2011 scottish hotel awards

The Scottish Hotel Awards are described as ‘the flagship awards for the Scottish hotel industry’ and ‘the country’s most comprehensive hotel awards scheme’. Now in their eighth year, the glittering awards ceremony was held in Glasgow last night (Sunday 27 March 2011).
The New County Hotel and its Opus One Restaurant in Perth secured two accolades - a Gold medal in the Management category for General Manager Alan Berwick and a Medaille d’Or for Head Chef Romuald (Romi) Denesle. Just hours before the event in Glasgow, Romi also collected a Bronze award for Scottish Chef of the Year at the Scottish Hospitality, Tourism and Catering (Scot-Hot) awards.
Meanwhile, its sister hotel, The Craigtay Hotel and its Aubergine Restaurant in Dundee, the latter of which opened just nine months ago, also secured two awards – Rising Star Young Chef of the Year for Head Chef Andrew MacIntosh and a Gold medal in the Design Commendation for Sarah Boyle.
