Perth, the ‘Perfect Centre’ of Scotland is a shopper’s dream.
The city centre is compact, with a range of major stores and a wonderful selection of speciality shops, of which Perth is renowned.
The main shopping areas of Perth High Street and St. John’s Street are pedestrianised, and here you can browse the major brand names and independent specialist shops at your leisure. Stop for lunch or a coffee and watch the world go by in Perth’s own Café Quarter - St. John’s Place.
Perth Farmers Market
In the same area, around the corner is held Perth’s Farmers’ Market, on the 1st Saturday of every month, where you can buy the best of Perth’s fresh local produce. The market has a ‘street fair’ atmosphere and draws large crowds each month.

Perth Cittaslow
- In February 2008, at a special reception at the Scottish Parliament, Perth celebrated becoming the first Cittaslow town in Scotland.
Cittaslow is a movement of over 100 European towns where people work together to ensure the highest possible quality of life for residents and visitors. It developed from the Slow Food movement which began in Italy and has extended across the world.
Pitlochry
A quite delightful Victorian town 20 miles from Perth. Nestling in the Perthshire Highlands amidst some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe, Pitlochry has been a popular holiday resort for over a hundred years. Enjoy distilleries, castles, the fish ladder and dam, the famous Pitlochry Theatre, great shopping, and superb local walks. Nearby Queens View and the visitor centre at Killiecrankie are well worth a visit.
House of Bruar
Highland shopping and The House of Bruar, only 30 miles from the hotel, are almost synonymous. 'Scotland's Harrods', as it is known is a must visit. It has added a whole new dimension to the area but some of Scotland's finest country shopping is still very much to the fore in Pitlochry itself.
