Traveller reviews of New County Hotel and Opus One Restaurant in Perth

We are delighted to announce that Opus One Head Chef Rory Lovie has won national recognition at the 2012 Scottish Hotel Awards in Glasgow on 20th May, winning the ‘Rising Star Young Chef’ Award.

The New County Hotel also won the ‘Bar Food Award 2012’for Gavin's Bistro & Bar.

Jalal Al Ibrahimi collected a General Manager Gold Medaland Louise Smith won a ‘Superstar Housekeeper’ Award.

Scottish Field Review awards Opus One four stars!

January in Opus One kicked off with a fabulous two page review in the prestigious Scottish Field magazine.
Reviewer Cate Devine gave Opus One a very impressive four star rating and some of her comments were as follows:  
  
" Cured loin of Perthshire roe deer, served in seven rose-centred slices and with little pastry parcels of shoulder confit, was achingly delicious and certainly worth the attention of the Michelin inspectors."  
  
"We left reluctantly, but seared by the impression left by Denesle.  Might he open an Opus Two?  And could it be in Glasgow please?"
